It is the rushing waters and their corrosive action, sculpting the earth and creating ravines and steep slopes, imposing rocks that seem to look upon what rolls between them. It is some Earth activity, an earthquake or the collapse of underground tunnels, which again make the earth open and form large slits on its surface.

Whatever their cause, the canyons are always fascinating to the visitor, as even the most friendly ones, even the mildest ones, exude greatness and remind man of the scale of things on the planet.
